For Aidita, making Cuban cakes isn’t a job; it’s a hobby she pursues with a lot of love. This pastime, thanks to her son’s idea, turned into what we now all know as PelusasSweetsCakes. 😋

What few know, and Aidita shared with us, is that she calls her husband “Pelusas.” In the midst of a false diagnosis, this Cuban woman wanted to incorporate the nickname “Pelusas” into the name of her Cuban cake business. In case something were to happen to her life partner, this nickname would remain as a tribute in the business’s name. 🧸

But Aidita is a true warrior, a cashier at McDonald’s during the day and a sweet-maker in the afternoons and evenings. All this sacrifice is to please her loyal customers and, at the same time, not to stop doing something she is so passionate about and learned in Cuba alongside her grandmother. 👩‍🍳

Kike, the “Pelusas” in this story, is Aidita’s right hand in this venture. He takes care of baking the cakes, even while Aidita is serving ‘Happy Meals’ at a McDonald’s in Miami.

Cuban Cakes

Now, let’s get to the best part of this article, talking about the delicious Cuban cakes prepared by the PelusasSweetsCakes team. 🎂

Aidita and Kike make these cakes completely from scratch, using flour and eggs, without any fondant, buttercream, or any other pre-prepared products. They are appetizing on the outside and delicious on the inside.

To taste one of these Cuban cakes is to enjoy flavors originating from our homeland, to ‘immerse’ yourself in memories that camouflage with every bite you take, to forget about the diet and eat as if there’s no tomorrow.

The ‘thing’ doesn’t end here. Aidita is also an expert at preparing tartlets, Swiss rolls, cupcakes, ‘cabezotes’ (a Cuban dessert), flans, cheesecakes, ‘panetelas borrachas’ (rum-soaked cakes), rice pudding, ‘rosquitas’ (ring-shaped cookies), ‘merenguitos’ (meringues), and many more delights. 🧁

These Cuban sweets are the perfect companions to complement your order at PelusasSweetsCakes. If you order a Cuban cake from Aidita, you’ll regret it if you don’t add some of these delicious treats to your order.

Since Aidita doesn’t do this full time, it’s advisable to place your order with some advance notice so that she can plan and complete the order on time.

If you live in Miami-Dade and surrounding areas, to place an order with PelusasSweetsCakes, you just need to contact Aidita through her WhatsApp number or via her Instagram profile. Coordinate with her regarding the theme of the cake and if you want to add Cuban sweets to the order. This Cuban baker at heart will get ‘down to business’ to fulfill your order. 🤙

Aidita dreams of having her own bakery where she can sell all the delights she prepares. She aspires to have a space filled with satisfied customers, eager and ‘desperate’ to acquire her sweet products. 🤩

Special thanks to Aidita’s son, as it was his idea that sparked the initiative for his mom to monetize this hobby. And as you can see, the idea turned out very well. 👏

Blessings, and may success continue to come your way!
